skybridge

April 2024 — West Lafayette, Indiana

This photo, taken from the skybridge between the PHYS and MSEE buildings on the Purdue University campus, offers an elevated view of the Engineering Mall, currently adorned with an abundance of blossoming trees. In the foreground, numerous deciduous trees are in full bloom, their branches covered in a profusion of small, delicate white flowers, creating a soft, ethereal canopy that frames the scene. The intricate network of branches is visible against a bright, overcast sky.

Below the flowering trees, a patterned brick pathway, typical of a pedestrian mall, stretches into the distance. Along this path, a golf cart is visible, being driven away from the viewer, adding a touch of activity to the otherwise serene setting. To the left and right of the pathway, green lawns and shrubbery are visible, interspersed with benches and dark-colored waste receptacles. In the background, the path leads towards what is presumably the Engineering fountain, though the fountain itself is not distinctly visible. On the right, the red brick facade of a university building is partially visible, indicating the urban campus environment. The overall impression is one of spring's arrival on the Purdue campus, with the vibrant white blossoms creating a beautiful contrast against the brickwork and pathway.
